“Resurrection Sunday” – 24”x30”
This piece is part of a special collection of artwork that I created in 2017 to celebrate Lent, Holy Week, and Resurrection Sunday. Created with acrylic paint on canvas. Each painting features abstract textures, geometric shapes, and botanical elements to symbolically tell the story of the day it represents. This piece represents Resurrection Sunday when Jesus (the Rose of Sharon) rose from the dead.

Resurrection Sunday is the day of celebration commemorating Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, His sacrifice and payment for the debt of our sin, giving up salvation and eternal life. The flower in this piece is rose of Sharon, which is a reference to Jesus in Song of Solomon. The three gold lines represent the Trinity. “He is not here, he has risen just as he said.” – Mat. 28:6
