“Palm Sunday” – 24”x30”

$600.00

This piece is part of a special collection of artwork that I created in 2017 to celebrate Lent, Holy Week, and Resurrection Sunday. Created with acrylic paint on canvas. Each painting features abstract textures, geometric shapes, and botanical elements to symbolically tell the story of the day it represents. This represents Palm Sunday, the day of the Triumphal Entry, when Jesus entered Jerusalem and green palm branches were laid before him.

Description

Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter, is the day the Church celebrates Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. It is a day when Christians all over the world unite in declaring, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” (Mat. 21:9). The palm branch in this piece represents those laid before Jesus at the Triumphal Entry. The seven gold lines represent the seven days until the Resurrection.
