“Good Friday” – 24”x30”

$600.00

This piece is part of a special collection of artwork that I created in 2017 to celebrate Lent, Holy Week, and Resurrection Sunday. Created with acrylic paint on canvas. Each painting features abstract textures, geometric shapes, and botanical elements to symbolically tell the story of the day it represents. This piece represents Good Friday, the day of Jesus’ crucifixion, and represents Jesus’ exchange of the crown of thorns for the crown of glory.

Description

Good Friday is the day commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus. The thorn tree in this piece represents the crown of thorns that was placed on Jesus’ head (John 19:2), and the gold circle represents Jesus’ eternal, heavenly crown and His victory over death. “‘Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?’ Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” – 1 Cor. 15:55-57.
